Parcels is about the grid- the compartmentalization of aligned elements. The ground creates an ambivalent space while the smaller grid units align and offer visual pacing.
Dennis recently retired as Lecturer at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan. He Dennis is also an emeritus faculty, Washtenaw Community College, Ann Arbor, Michigan where he taught design and art for twenty-nine and a half years.
He earned a B.F.A in Painting at Wayne State University, and went on to study painting at Eastern Michigan University where he earned his M.F.A.
Dennis was hired as an Assistant Professor of Art, South Dakota State University instructing in art and design the first five years of his teaching career. He joined the faculty at Washtenaw Community College, Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1980, and retired from WCC in December of 2009. Currently he teaches at The college of Art and Design, University of Michigan since 2008.
